Can you join multiple blogs using import?

    Hi, I am considering joining multiple blogs into 1 new blog. The existing blogs are running under WordPress mu…the new blog would be regular wordpress. Will multiple imports work? or will they walk all over each other? Any other advice or gotchas would also be appreciated!

    Sure it can be done. To make it easier to import to single WordPress install, export XML per blog from your MU then import the XML’s one by one to your single WP. Or, import the XML from the main MU site to get the users in, otherwise go to #1 below.
    Some points to consider:
    1. If your MU blogs have different authors, you might consider adding the different users first in your single WP before importing. That way it would be easy to assign the posts during the import.
    2. If you are the author to all blogs, you might consider adding admin1, admin2, etc users. That way, should you want to go back MU or set up a different WP for a different topic, it’ll be easier to export the user authoring the specific topic.
