• Had a clean believed successful install today. When I try to log in to the admin panel I get ERROR: invalid user. What do I use for a user? I have tried the user I put in the wp-config.php and it does not work. Also tried ‘root’ and ‘admin’.

Possibly an installation issue or permissions issue. I’ve tried 777 and 755 permissions on the http://www.example.com/wordpress directory.

    Please help??

  • This is not an installation or permission issue.

Do NOT use those details you have entered in wp-config.php file. That will not work at all.

When you install wordpress, it gives you the username “admin” and a random password. It seems that you did not notice that! Never mind, now you need to reset the password. Check this:

Actually I seen this in the read me but funny enough it never populates during the install. Tried re-install 2 more times…..still doesn’t populate. Oh well, I check the link above. Thank you!

Any idea why the screen with password never populates during installation?
