Can i use .im ?

Hi I’m pretty new to this side of things. My word press sure is up and running without a problem. I registered the domain when setting up my hosting with DreamHost. Its currently using .info (because it was free) but i wish to switch it to .im (a local domain (isle of man) ). But i don’t want to spend the silly money they ask for this domain to find out it won’t be supported by DreamHost or WordPress…. Any ideas?
