Calendar Display

I am curious if anyone has extended the calendar shortcode to display a calendar with the events listed on each day. Here is an example of what I am trying to achieve: https://tahoearthauscinema.com/calendar/

That thread makes my request seem very possible, but the programming required is beyond my skills. Anyone out there who has done this, or whom I could hire to make this happen?
