Cache Timeout & Garbage Collection Simplified

The term cache timeout and garbage collection is really confusing.

I searched and searched but it seems the meaning of these terms are really confusing to a lot of people.

Is it OK to set the Cache Timeout to 604800 seconds. This is 7 Days.
And then set Garbage Collection Scheduler to 3600 Seconds.

Does this mean, after 7 days the WP Super Cache plugin will refresh all my preloaded (cached) pages?

So! If I have 100 pages and posts, will WP Super Cache regenerate (preload) ALL 100 pages and posts?

Now another confusing thing about the “Preload” tab.
Refresh preloaded cache files every 0 minutes. <— This is my setting.
If I change this to 30 minutes, does that override my Cache Timeout setting which is set at 7 days?
