I’m using the above plugin on my site to extract the latest excerpt for several posts. The links in some cases the titles will be too long. I
I’m using the attribute %URL% in this case to call the URL.

What I need to do is to truncate the title, and I want to do this without having to resovle using a smaller font – the reason is, that several titles will be incredibly long, and I can’t change the font size for each and everyone otherwise it will become invisible.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Anyone got any ideas on this one? Or an alternative solution?

I assume by %URL% you meant %post_URL%. Well, I’m close to releasing a much-delayed update to the plugin. I could probably add a setting or two to allow truncation of titles. Would you be looking to truncate by word or number of characters? A good solution might be to allow truncation of any of the percent-substitution tag values. Hmm, I may just get this version out the door before I try that. There are enough new features in it as it is… 🙂

cool well i was thinking by words or characters – flexibility is something I like about the plugin. If it’s a case of one or the other then characters, with a … at the end of link; and yes I meant post url. Any truncation would also be a very welcome addition. Look forward to the update.

    Thank you
