Do you have Genesis or a Genesis child theme active on the site? Or, are you trying to network activate it?

I hope you don’t mind if I get this post going again. I am trying to network activate the plugin. Is there something specific I need to do?
Sorry, you can’t network activate theme dependent plugins. You have to activate on individual sites.
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
I have this problem, since upgrading, and am not network activating.
Are you running the latest version of Genesis & the latest version of Simple Hooks?
Hi i am experiencing a similar problem, genisis child theme and framework are up to date, when trying to update this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-simple-hooks/ to the latest version i recieve this error,
Fatal error: Class ‘Genesis_Admin_Boxes’ not found in
/home/www/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/genesis-simple-hooks/admin.php on line 13
and then cannot access the plugins area at all.
I have to roll back to a backup to fix the website.
Please tell me how to deactivate this plugin through the file system. I have made the site and admin inaccessible. Thanks.
