  • The main thing that strikes me is that it lacks branding — there’s no place for a logo to help people remember what the site’s called.

OK I reworked the logo, and placed it into the footer. Does that work?

I don’t think it does work. When I said “logo” i really meant a graphic or text representation of the name of the blog. You want people to be able to remember the name. I can recall visiting canarygirl’s blog a week ago and mudsugar six months ago because the names are catchy and prominently displayed.

I think that it’s important to allow for branding a site by having the name prominently displayed. For some reason the convention is to have that at the top left, and either because that position has some intrinsic value or because people are used to looking there for the site name it’s a convention that probably shouldn’t be lightly set aside.

Otherwise I like the simplicity of the blog. It’s very clean.

I’d wrap the text around the thumbnail image rather than having it inline, however.

i like the design, but i have to agree, you dont even have your blog name at the top, and however much i like the site, and however much i might want to find it again, im not going to remember it! The logo is good, but with no text it doesnt help
