I have installed the static page plugin to give my site a home page. I have also set up permalinks to give my pages decent url’s for bookmarking.

What I want to do now is set up a page called ‘blog’ with the relevant url that contains my blog that i can link to in my main nav. At present I have blog kinda working with ‘blog’ as a category as suggested in the static page plugin advice page, but the url is “/archives/category/blog/” (not just “/blog”).

I’d like to have categories available within the blog too. I’m not sure, but I assumed that with the static front page plugin I could no longer use categories as all posts had to go in to ‘blog’ category?

Any advice would be great.
