Blog for training purposes

Hi

I am a teacher of photography and I would like to set up a wp blog for each of my students to use as a method of communicating their work and for me to respond to. I am setting up a new site for the school and would like each student to sign into their own blog from this. so it would be private between me and the student. Could you advise the best way to do this please? Many thanks
