Hi @gilou, thanks for your question.
Both of your examples only validate the button for me if I add :FFFF to the end of the second IP as there don’t seem to be enough elements in your examples. However, I also experience the second range successfully adding, whereas using the compressed IP doesn’t. I will submit this to the development team to see if anything needs to be changed.
You can also express this range as 2001:A880::/32, which validates and is successfully added when the form is submitted.
Thanks,
Peter.
Hi @gilou,
Just a note to state that we have added a development case for 2001:A880:: – 2001:A880:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF not adding with the compressed IP. It appears to be linked to PHP8+, as PHP7.10.0 in our tests still add this IP to the block lists. However, you can still use the two methods above to add this IP range in the mean time. We can’t maintain ongoing updates here on the forums, so just make sure to check release notes whenever a new Wordfence version comes out.
For anybody referencing this topic, you can convert a range to the CIDR 2001:A880::/32 format using a converter such as: https://www.ipaddressguide.com/ipv6-cidr
Thanks again,
Peter.
