• Sorry, newbie. There is one IP that has spammed us with pharmaceutical sales emails nearly 100 times in one day. I keep listing as spam so they are never published, but is there a way to BLOCK them from even emailing?

    thanks

  • Go to your settings, and to Akismet settings. Then scroll until you find blacklists, there should be an IP blacklist or email blacklist.
    Hope this helps!

BDog, don’t just mark them as spam, because if you don’t permanently delete the comments, Google and other browsers can still read them, giving that site more hits and a connection with you possibly.

Thanks. I had to install Akismet and get the key. Did so and could not find the blacklist option..could it be a different version issue (2.5.3)? It appears that it will just recognize what I tag as spam.

I did permanently delete all the comments I’ve tagged as spam. Would the search engines find those comments even if they’ve never been approved?

Hmmm… my Akismet has IP block, maybe post to Akismet plugin forum?
    Hope this helps!
