    -try contacting the hosting provider (unless you are your own server) if the database server is online / if they have any other problem at their end, or they made any changes to your account, or if there are any limitations/restrictions, etc . Also check with them if you need to upgrade the hosting account in order to install and run your verson of the WordPress.

    funny, i had the same issues trying to install the latest rc2 version, yet the lesser stable version installed ok. two times i tried installing rc2 and kept getting a blank screen each time on the install page like the first poster.
