Bits Missing from Dashboard
-
Hey all,
I just installed the new version and when I go to my dashboard and try to write a new post, the text box stuff is missing ie, bold, italic, centre, indent, fonts, font size. None of the icons are showing. How do I reinstall WP?
Thanks,Steve.

By the way, I have a screenshot but no way to send it!!
Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
Hi Esmi, I did a complete reinstall of WP but the dashboard icons are still missing.
Any more ideas?
Steve.
is there at least one row of buttons showing? if so find the “Show hide kitchen sink button”
if not are you in the html edit view?
if not can you put your screenshot somewhere. What version of WP did you start with, which are you on now. How did you “complete reinstall of WP”
Hi there,
There are no buttons at all. I’m in Visual view, It’s a new site install, latest version of WP.
I uninstalled it via Filezilla (deleted wp) then re uploaded to Filezilla.

hmm, perhaps there is an issue with the images. can you please screenshot it?
Try adding
define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false );to the bottom of your wp-config.php file (just before therequire_onceline).Hi Esmi,
That’s brought up the icons but no definition. ie, the grey boxes are there but nothing written/images on them. At least I have the tool tip menu when I hover my mouse so that’s a start.
Thanks.
Steve.
There seems to be an issue with the images. When I look to alter my theme, none of the images are showing up.

Check that anti-hotlinking isn’t enabled in your hosting account. If it is, try disabling it.
I have several instances of WP on various sites all with the same host and they all work fine so I don’t think that’s the problem Esmi.
