Better Development Help For A Beginner

    Im new to wordpress.org i wanted to ask how can i use html to make my website more professional looking. And is html the only way to make my website look more professional. I know what coding is but i don’t know how to code a website ive only messed with coding nothing serious. I switched to wordpress.org because i got tired of the other easier website builders because i couldnt integrate a forum into my website so i thought it would be better to learn and do it myself and thats what i want to do. The first thing i notice when i go on my website is that its definitely could look better done when i compare it to other websites and thats what i came here to ask for help with. My site is pretty basic atm and looks like just a wall of texts with pictures and a forum.

    I downloaded beaver builder so far and i been using the lite to drag an drop. Im going to look around for videos and more help but hopefully someone can stare me in the right direction/ I would greatly appreciate it.

    Since WordPress is software that stores HTML in a database and tells whatever theme you are using which parts to use to generate a complete HTML page, it’s difficult to answer your question of “how can I use html to make my website more professional looking”.

    You should define what parts you want to change, what “professional looking” means, and what the end goal is, and then maybe someone can help steer you in a direction. There are many free themes available that look all different. You can choose any at any time (and switch among them). If you go down the road of using a plugin to build pages, you might lock yourself in to using that forever, and it’s all only HTML regardless of how it gets into the page.

    As for a forum, there are plugin for that, so you don’t need to “do it yourself”.

    Using a page builder plugin like Beaver Builder will help you advance the layout (columns, rows, sidebars, navigation menus, footers, etc.) of your chosen theme. Beaver Builder is not a “theme” itself, it’s a page builder plugin that allows you to further customize a theme to what you envision it looking like. The caveat is, you have to learn Beaver Builder, you have to have some basic knowledge of graphic design, like font styles, colors, and other basic things one might change on a website. Beaver Builder and other page builders like Elementor, Avada Fusion, Elegant Themes Divi Builder, StudioPress, are all very powerful plugins that can help you do amazing things, but the reality is, no one here can help you with your vision for what you want to do with them. It’s really your responsibility to either take a local class or workshop or find someone who knows these platforms and can show you how to do it yourself. Maybe you need a WordPress coach?
