    I enabled avatars in settings>discussion and set the default to Mystery man. Now whenever anyone comments to a post, that mystery man avatar shows next to the reply. How do I let registered users (my system is set so that someone must be registered and approved and enabled before they can comment) add their own avatars and subsequently display when they post a comment??

    I am using WP 3.4.1

    Your users could set up their own gravatar.com accounts. Then their chosen avatar would be shown automatically on your site.
