Same here with 2.8.2 — on one installation on the server. on the other it works fine.
same here.. just does to download and sits there not doing anything..
any advice?
Takes a tiny bit more work, but you can simply go to http://wordpress.org/download/ download 2.8.2 and then ftp the files.
right, i’m fully aware that i can manually upgrade, however, i would like to have Automatic Upgrade working correctly..
Have you all deactivated all the plugins?
Backedup your files and database?
If so swtch to the default theme in wordpress and try upgrading.
Hopefully that should work.
Well, I disabled plugins and set the theme to the default. I actually got an error message this time:
Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.8.2.zip.
Unpacking the update.
Verifying the unpacked files
Installing the latest version
Could not copy file: /subdomains/dev/httpdocs/wp-admin/theme-install.php
Installation Failed
I looked in the wp-content folder on the server and the upgrade zip file is there. No idea what to do now though.
Same problem here — upgrading from 2.7.1 to 2.8.2 and the screen just says: Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.8.2.zip — never does anything further. I’ve deactivated all plug-ins and changed to default WP theme — HELP??????
