Trying to update from WordPress 3.0 to 3.0.1. I’d like to get automatic updates working as I’m passing off this project to a client.

It asks me for the connection information, I enter it, and it gets to “Unpacking the update…” and stalls, unpacking indefinitely. I’ve let it go for some time now, but it hasn’t budged.

    The codex states:

“Note that your files all need to be owned by the user under which your Apache server executes, or you will receive a dialog box asking for ‘connection information,’ and you will find that no matter what you enter, it won’t work.”
    WordPress Codex

But it’s vague. Won’t work, meaning I get a warning, or not? Is this something I can setup on my side through my control panel (cpanel), or do I have to contact my host?

Update: Updating the theme worked just fine. Took a while, but worked. Still can’t update from 3.0 to 3.0.1.
