Hi, I had a client just install it the other day. Here’s what we learned using the template.
The Blog Post page has a placeholder for an image sized max 800×600 px
Upload all the images you wish to use to the media manager sized for this 800x600px
Write your blog post description – blog post allows any length. Insert the one image you wish to show on that blog post page. When using the Insert Image option through WordPress, choose the LARGE image size or ORIGINAL size for the blog post. It will insert the image into the blog post, and the home page will pull that link for the image automatically to the home page.
The Home Page, the way it is designed, it will crop and adjust photos according to the dimensions shown on the home page layout.
If you need to adjust the size of the photo inserted to the blog post, you simply click once on the photo and select the EDIT PROPERTIES button that appears on the image. Use the % (percentage) scaling slider beside the image to shrink it down for suitable insertion into the blog post text – the header part of the blog post page will continue to display the large (original) size photo.
I assume there is also a way to attach images through custom-fields with this theme, although I haven’t found that works as of yet.
I hope these directions are clear and allow you to experiment. Recreate the same post again and again playing with the process and technique if you’re having difficulty getting it right the first time. Once you’ve nailed down the process, you’ll be good to go.
Hi,
Awesome theme!
Im a bit confused as to what you’re saying here:
If you need to adjust the size of the photo inserted to the blog post, you simply click once on the photo and select the EDIT PROPERTIES button that appears on the image. Use the % (percentage) scaling slider beside the image to shrink it down for suitable insertion into the blog post text – the header part of the blog post page will continue to display the large (original) size photo.
Where is this that you have the scaling slider beside the image? I’ve searched through my wordpress but can’t find it – also are you saying that this will change the size of the image that is pulled onto the home page whilst keeping the image on the post page the same size? If this isn’t what you are saying then does anyone know a way of making the image on the home page smaller with this theme?
Cheers
Leedman,
Is it possible to post a link to the site you are referring to? If I understand you correctly, the photos on the home page are smaller but are the full size in the actual post?
Thanks!
