• Hi. I was loggin in to my wordpress dashboard via my phone and the auto update did its thing but there was an error. When I got home I wanted to complete the update via my home connection. I did and it succeeded but I got this message “ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist. Please check your installation”.
My web site is now down and I do not know what to do.
    Anyone?

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

My site is now up but it is running Prophoto 3 but previously I had prophoto4 installed.
In my admin site it says the following:
“The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description
    prophoto4 Stylesheet is missing.”

    What to do?

I’m sorry but as Prophoto is a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.
