Auto update failed 3.8 – 3.81

    I have re-installed my site a few times now. I run 15 domains all WP from my server and all with no issues at all but this one takes the cake.

    I can auto update and install themes/plugins but I cannot auto update WP.

    Downloading update from https://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.8.1-no-content.zip…

Unpacking the update…

The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.: wp-admin/includes/update-core.php

Installation Failed

    wp-cron is set to 644. In fact all files are 644 and most directories are 755, I’ve follwed the codex but still no luck. Anyone have any similar issues?
