Authentication fail for www

    I’me trying to create ssl certificate for both medisearch.iotlab.xyz, http://www.medisearch.iotlab.xyz.

    I’ve created a cname record for http://www.medisearch.iotlab.xyz, which is pointed to medisearch.iotlab.xyz in domain dns. I’ve also checked the cname record online, it works

    but when I try to create SSL, when I check on SSL for www and non www at forst step, it always shows authentication error. Hence I couldn’t create SSL for oth medisearch.iotlab.xyz, http://www.medisearch.iotlab.xyz.

    I was able t create only for medisearch.iotlab.xyz.

    How to solve this ?

    the plugin version is v5.6.2

    If you recently added CNAME record for “www” domain, it will take few hours to propagate. So please re-try again now..

    I have reset the code first.

    Then I checked on , “Generate SSL Certificate for both www & non-www version of domain”

    it shows: “Authentication failure! Please try again”

    I’ve checked the cname record using, MX lookup , it shows cname record has been published.

    How to solve this?

    Please logout & login to your wp-admin. Make sure you are logged in as administrator. “Authentication failure” refers that you don’t have administrator privileges.

    I have the same problem on more than one website. Until now I have never had a problem and the CNAME is configured the same as always

    Is there any solution or suggestion? Thanks

    Thanks for reporting the issue. This have been resolved in latest release v5.6.3. Please update and things should work fine.

    Hello,

    I’m having the exact same issue. I have installed the plugin on 7 websites and it works perfectly except for 2 of them (same shared hosting plan).

    – I’m logged in as admin
    – The cname records exist for a long time
    – I’m using the plugin version 5.7.1 with WordPress 5.8.1

    I receive the message “Authentication failure! Please try again” when I check the checkbox : Generate SSL Certificate for both www & non-www version of domain.

    If I uncheck this checkbox, I receive the message “Could not verify DNS records. Please check whether you have added above DNS records perfectly or try again after 5 minutes if you added DNS records just now. Upgrade to PRO version for fully automatic domain verification”.

    The http challenge reports this error : “Could not verify HTTP challenges. Please check whether HTTP challenge files uploaded to acme-challenge folder is publicly accessible. Some hosts purposefully block BOT access to acme-challenge folder, please try DNS based verification. Upgrade to PRO version for fully automatic domain verification.”

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
