• We’ve started receiving the following error and my boss is convinced it’s either a plug-in or that it is something else on the site which is killing it.

The error message is Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the limit if necessary. Use ‘LogLevel debug’ to get a backtrace., referer: (various web sites are listed here)

We’ve reviewed web sites and other possible causes in htdocs.conf and we are at an impasse. anyone have any ideas to point us in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance.

  • You could try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

We just tried that and it made no difference to our structure. We were using one of the listed choices included rather than our own custom.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

We might have an idea as to what could be causing this, we just need to see what it’s going to do overnight. Will check back on this tomorrow.

trdunsworth > I have the same issue. Did you fix it ?
