I didn’t launch my website yet. I want to make sure it is correct before I do that. On my desktop, all looks correct and works but when I review on my phone I can’t open the menu and my contact page and prices page looks different and don’t show my forms. When I deactivate AMP, my website looks correct and my website forms work. If I activate AMP again only pages without forms look correct. What am I supposed to do? Thank you

  • Hi @violabusiness01,

Thanks for contacting us, based on your description I can make a few suggestions:

    1. Have you tried to use the standard mode with the sandboxing on level “loose” ?
    2. mobile menu not working looks like your theme is not-amp compatible, in this case: I would select a theme compatible or use reader mode with an AMP-compatible theme.
    3. Contact page and prices page looking different, there are two possible scenarios: your page hit the CSS budget or the plugin is not-compatible with AMP. You can check the AMP settings to check if how much your pages are using from the CSS budget.

Another question, which plugin for forms are you using?

    Hi Fellyph,

    Thank you for answering.
I am a little confused. I am using WP Simple Contact Form and Pricing Table by Supsystic. Now, my contact form appeared on the mobile version but not the pricing tables.
My menu stopped working on mobile. It was working before but now I cannot open it. However, all pages are accessible from my footer. Some pages have the correct look of header and footer but some do not. All are set up the same way. I was getting support from WordPress but they said that I must get help from AMP since it looks like AMP is causing the issue.

    Thanks

    Hi @violabusiness01,

Sorry to hear it, I will just share some videos to give a bit of background, AMP WordPress Plugin makes usage of AMP Framework that has a set of rules focused on the user and performance.

AMP itself is fully compatible with WordPress core, but to take the benefit of the AMP framework and to have your pages AMP Valid, you can choose a template mode that doesn’t require modifications or have an environment with themes and plugins AMP compatibles.

The ideal scenario is having a test environment that we can test and give a better report. But based on your description:

My menu stopped working on mobile. It was working before but now I cannot open it. However

It could be caused by the usage of a third-party script to display the menu, which is not allowed by AMP framework rules, there are technical solutions for that, but if you are not developer, the best way is selecting an AMP-compatible theme or testing your website with standard template mode with the experimental feature “sandboxing”, and set as loose.

I am using WP Simple Contact Form and Pricing Table by Supsystic

Those two plugins are not listed as AMP-compatible plugins, you can contact the plugin developer of the respective plugins and check if they have a solution to make the plugins, AMP-compatible or test those plugins with the sandboxing feature.

Some pages have the correct look of header and footer but some do not.

Again, It is just a guess. I would check your CSS budget, because the AMP framework only allows 75 KB CSS on each page, so the AMP plugin adds CSS optimizations, which are sometimes exceeded by third-party plugins or themes.

If you are not sure how to find exceeding CSS budget, follow the below steps:

    1) Make sure you have enabled the AMP validation tool
Go-to: Users > Profile > check the checkbox for AMP Development tool > save

    2) Visit AMP page exceeding CSS budget check Admin bar for AMP option locate submenu CSS budget and click on it (screenshot)

    3) Locate the source of excessive CSS (screenshot)

    4) If one of the plugins adds excessive CSS find an alternative plugin from the AMP ecosystem

You can learn more about the Reader mode video below:

I hope that I helped at this time. If you have any questions lets us know.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you require any further assistance.
