It looks like reCAPTCHA inputs aren’t yet fully supported by AMP, see https://github.com/ampproject/amphtml/issues/2273. Which means at the moment one cannot really use it.

Any other alternative that can overcome this problem?
It’s still noted as being experimental. Also, the amp-recaptcha-input is not available in v1.0.2 of the plugin. It is available in develop version (1.1-alpha).

Just wanted to say reCAPTCHA is now launched, and publicly available for pages as we released this last week for AMP Conf. It is now no longer experimental, and is good to go!
Not sure of the status for the amp plugin, as I am not directly related to it. But amp-recaptcha-input can now be placed on pages. And here is some documentation on how to do so: https://amp.dev/documentation/examples/components/amp-recaptcha-input/

I can confirm that the sample code works in the current version of the AMP plugin.
