@rivertechltd – You are always welcome to submit a Bug report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) so we can help you sort out your specific issue.
– Cais.
@rivertechltd: Just an additional note on this. If the only posts you are seeing on an issue are from 2-4 years ago, it usually means either no one else is having the issue and it’s specific to something on your site (which is common), or if it is a common issue to NextGEN, it’s just not one that is other users consider an issue.
In this case, are you trying to change the actual name of the file as stored on the server through the NextGEN interface? (ie, change, 123.jpg to 456.jpg? If so, no, that functionality is not available in the new version or in legacy. You can, however, edit the “Title”, which is a meta field associated with them image. Thanks (Erick).
Hi
No I am not trying to change the name of the image. I am trying to display the name of the image on the thumbnail so customers can ident it when manually ordering. Currently the title of the image for some strange reason is being picked up from the description field which is empty on import rather than the alttitle field which is populated? Would this not be the better way to pull in the name of the thumbnail?
Can I change this in a php file somewhere or report this a bug…… You will find poeple are not using Next Gen beacuse of this rather thanbeing bothered about support or reporting bugs!
Thanks
@Rivertechitd: It sounds like you’re trying to display the title on the front end, but can you confirm what gallery type you are using? You mentioned thumbnails, which means you are either using a caption template (which just shows the caption, not the title) under each image, or you are talking about what’s displayed within the lightbox that opens up when you click on an image?
