Am I missing a step?

    Hello,

    I have built sites using other platforms, and am trying to learn the world of wordpress. I purchased a domain and web hosting plan through 1&1. I have it all set up correctly – so I think. I’m at the point now where I can log into wordpress and make edits in the dashboard but when I attempt to ‘visit site,’ I get the 1&1 splash page telling me that the “This domain name has just been registered,”

    Am I missing a step to getting the site launched? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    if there is an index.html in the same directory as the wp-config.php it will need to be deleted.

    Note that I wrote index.html, and NOT index.php, the index.php needs to stay.

    if you cant find a file by that name, look for index.htm or default.html ..
