@maginem – What are you using to display “all albums”?

I have a question along these lines as well. I have all of my galleries in 3 albums. I have a pictures page that I placed the 3 albums on using the “attach Nextgen gallery” function. I selected basic compact album as display type and then selected albums as the source and selected the 3 albums to display. Currently the albums get sorted by ID number. Is there a way to change it so they are sorted by most recently edited?

Hi,
I use the insert NextGen gallery button and add the albums to view. But no matter in what order I add the albums, when I save it, it swaps them around to show according to their ID.
I would ideally like them to show in the order that I add them.
@maginem – OK … can you provide more specifics when you say you are adding the albums? Are you choosing multiple albums in the source panel?
Have you tried creating a “super” album and putting all of the albums you want to display and then insert that “super” album? When you go to insert that album, you can then use the Sort/Exclude panel to sort the albums as you see fit.

Ok, so that doesn’t quite do what I want as I want. When adding albums to a “super” album it only shows the album thumbnail and not the galleries inside the albums. So I’ve just created another album and added all galleries to that in the order I want to show them in. It’s a work around, would however be nice if one could just order the albums. That way one wouldn’t have to create extra albums etc.

Your answer to MagineM helped me out. I was looking for a was to sort albums inside of a super album automatically by most recently modified. If that’s not possible doing it manually will work just fine.
@seadad – The best method to sort albums is within a “super” album as described above. You could try using shortcodes, where it is expected the sort order used under Gallery > Manage Albums will work, but it is not consistent across all sites (and we do not have a reason why this is the case, yet).
