Akismet plugin deleted

    My wordpress had a cyber attack and now my posts are being spammed. Looks like the Akismet plugin was deleted – it is not on the plugin list. If I try to install it again, it says it is already installed. But it isn’t listed in the plugins!

    How do I get this spam filter working again. Do I use the host file manager and delete the askismet directory and it’s contents, then reinstall?

    FTP into your site (or whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the wp-content/plugins/akismet fplder. Then re-install Akismet.
