After install it went back to the default layout i quickly recreated the exact SQL user with same name and password and i was wondering how to revert this. In my actual server/ Filezilla all my files are still in contact so i take it thats theres a setting messed up in phpmyadmin please help me change it back… No i did not back it up, yes i should have… i think we can stil save my website tho!

  • This sounds like something your webhost would have to address. I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking.

Do you need help restoring a wordpress installation? Or the user that has database privileges mysql?

Basically i reinstalled word press on accident but all my files are still on my server but there not showing up in my media…

This is so strange… I found my old theme i had installed but its not finding my old game files

Media is stored in the wp-content folder by default. That’s anything you upload, movies, pictures,

If you reinstalled then you may have to move them? How did you reinstall it?

All the posts are stored in the database. As your site is showing a new wordpress install. Did you accidentally remove the database as well as the user? I don’t understand how optimising your cache speeds took you anywhere close to your PhpMyAdmin user. As long as the database is intact, create a new mysql user, give it access to your wordpress database and manually edit your wp-config.php file. Better yet, if you re-create the user you originally installed wordpress with that should work.

I removed my phpadmin user… Went to site it showed the fresh installation page of WP. I quickly changed the wp-config back to the right user and password and re-add the correct phpmyadmin user and it still asks to do a fresh install… so i do and now everything is in my uploads folder when i browse to it manually in browser but in wordpress itself nothing is showing up under media

Also this just happened but i cant access my site threw my IP at my house but rather a proxy…ban possibly?

You do not have a backup of the old database? If you re-installed WordPress, you may have overwritten your old database. This may mean you’ve lost the posts/pages you may have had.

The files and themes are still in your wp-content folder, but not in your media-library. You can import all of this media from a directory on the server again quickly.

I can only speculate on what your access issue may be, but as it’s most likely an ISP/Hosting issue and irrelevant to WordPress, I won’t.

I dont think it has to do with my host… My files haven’t moved threw this entire process there still in my upload folder but wont detect in wordpress itself.. But the main thing i wanted back was my pages when apparently like you said i over writ…

Also this just happened but i cant access my site threw my IP at my house but rather a proxy…ban possibly?

When you said this, I meant this problem is irrelevant to WordPress, that is why I said you being unable to access it has something to do with your host/ISP. I am not saying your db problems have anything to do with your access problems, you posted twice and I anwsered both posts is all.

The reason it doesn’t detect the files, is as I said, to do with the database. When you upload a file in wordpress, it makes a reference in the database and puts it in a folder. You’ve got the folders. You will have to re-import the files manually into your library.

Good luck getting your site back up and running.

How do you do this re importing im so what new to word press.. im in control panel under media i dont see anything

You could try this plugin. WP can import from server for individual files, this may help do the bulk import.
