Adsense Sidebar Issue

Hey, my adsense ads don’t seem to be working when adding the code to my sidebar.php. Here is my adsense code name, and here is what I’m adding to the sidebar.php

Adsense code name: <!–adsense–>

Adsense sidebar.php code: <?php adsense_deluxe_ads(‘<!–adsense–>’); ?>.

What am I doing wrong? Is it the comma marks on the adsense name?
