• Anyone else notice when they login to the admin panel, that it always says “Password field empty” and then logs in? Also, has anyone also noticed that the Users table is offset to the left, so the users info does not line up under the correct heading. I don’t want to start hacking away at the admin file before getting input from others. It’s not really a big deal, but just something I thought I’d bring up. Thanks in advance.

  • Amit, what browser are you using? I have never had layout problems like the one you describe for the users page. I haven’t yet experienced the “password field empty” problem either.

Both problems occur in Internet Explorer 6 and in Firefox 0.9.1 . Yea, I know I need to upgrade to FF 1.0. I’ll get around to it! LOL. I doubt that will fix the alignment problem I have though.

What’s the URL of the page you are getting the alignment problem at, and what version of WP are you using?

    URL:
    http://www.marginalspace.com/wp-admin/users.php
    WP Version:
    1.2.1 Mingus

I use 1.2.1 too, and the page shows no style-fu in FF and IE.
Did you happen to change the admin stylesheet? This is puzzling.

no, not at all. I didn’t want to mess around with the admin panel at all, till I got some insight. Yea it is a bit odd. I wonder if I add more users, if it will justfy correctly. I don’t understand my logic here, but you never know.

    The plot thickens.
I noticed the “password field is empty” error while logging in.
Now the question is, how do I begin to help you?

LOL. Okay, the alignment thing is just that the text is left justified in the table cell. I couldn’t notice that b4 since I only had 1 user prior to your registration (so it was on a white bkground). Now that you registered I could see what it was (since your info was on a grey background). Yea, the password thingy is the only thing I’m not sure about.

My screen res. is at 1280×1024. But, I’m sure that’s not the reason for the password error snafu. I figured out the alignment problem was that the user’s info is left justified in the table cell.

The login problem is a small bug – doesn’t bite, but is a bug nevertheless.
Leaving the password field empty actually generated a different error message “Error: Incorrect password.”
You can file a bug report at http://mosquito.wordpress.org so we can keep track of the bug, and I am sure someone will iron it out. Please do take a minute to file a bug report about this error.
    Thank you.
