Admin pages not displaying

    Certain pages in the admin are displaying absolutely no content – no html, no nothing.
    e.g. when i edit a page and click update the wp-admin/page.php displays absolutely nothing – the function completes (so whatever changes I’ve made are actioned) but I can’t for the life of me work out why this might be happening? These pages live outside any themes so are surely immune from anything theme-related that i edit?

    also pages such as the page that should show after you post a comment also do not show anything.
    anyone with any ideas?
