• Hi, I’ve been trying to resolve this issue for a couple of weeks before posting but I’m throwing in the towel and asking for help. My admin panel is redirecting me to my front facing 404 page randomly when different menu items are clicked. Plugins, WooCommerce orders, product pages, posts etc. Sometimes, when I refresh the 404 page it takes me to the correct admin page I clicked originally. I have switched to twenty twenty, disabled all plugins, enabled each plugin, thought I narrowed it down to the plugin causing the issue and then it happens again. I feel like there must be something in the database causing this but I’m hoping someone here can help me drill down to find and fix it as it creates a lot of unnecessary time and I’m concerned there is potential risk as well if everything isn’t working properly. Thank you in advance for any support provided.

  • ‘404’ page? Or is it the ‘500 error’ page?

Or are you on Cloudflare? If you are does the error page have a ‘Ray ID’?

Is it a server-based error page? Or is it from WordPress itself? There is a difference.

Are you seeing any problems in the site itself or does all the problems occur during Admin?

Have you looked at the server error logs?

Is the site ‘content heavy’ or is it heavily loaded with plugins? Or is it visited regularly? Is it popular?

Hi and thank you for responding.

    1. Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
frontend-legacy.min.css:1 Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED – This is the error Chrome’s console shows

    2. No Cloudflare

    3. Not sure about this but happy to look if I know where

    4. I have (Is it safe to post them here)?

    5. Not content heavy, I’m running 32 plugins. We get a decent amount of traffic but nothing that should cause issues.

    6. I have the follow errors in health check:

Background updates ensure that WordPress can auto-update if a security update is released for the version you are currently using.
Error A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check().

The scheduled event, wcdn_ts_tracker_send_event, failed to run. Your site still works, but this may indicate that scheduling posts or automated updates may not work as intended.

Also, the only issue outside of the admin panel is the CC entry form fails to load and just keeps trying to load every once in a while. I believe that is an issue with the square plugin with mixed site issues
