• Is there a way to give a site admin (I.E. Me) a local avatar which will appear as the avatar when answering comments. There are reasons why I do not want to use gravatar. All the plugins I have tried change the default user avatar, including mine, but I cannot find a way to give admin a specific, locally retained avatar.

  • WP avatars are all set through gravatar.com. You will need to set up a gravatar.com account with the same email address as the one you used on the admin user account of your website

    Hope this helps!

Which is exactly what I said I didn’t want to do.

    There is also this plugin:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/
Although, I have never used it.

    Hope that helps!

Everyone without gravatar gets the same default avatar. That plugin, along with every other similar one, only allows you to change the default avatar, but not set up a specific avatar for admin. But thanks for you time.

If you look closely at the plugin I suggested it allows you to set a default and a per user avatar. Therefore you can set the admin avatar since the admin is a user….

Show the user’s Gravatar avatar or Default Avatar if the user doesn’t have a WP User Avatar image.

You set a WP User Avatar using the plugin for the admin account and leave the others alone.

    Hope this helps.
