Adjusting 2017 theme page layout

I’m using 2017 theme for the above site. I’ve installed the Disable Blogging plugin because the site is entirely form-oriented, using Formidable Forms.

My problem is when I create a View and put in in a page the displayed information, e.g., a table of Entries for some form, is crowded into the center of the screen causing wrapping of the data. Simply put, I would like to change the layout to use more of the page width for what I want the user to see.

After much searching on how to do this I find only complex answers, e.g., templates, child-themes, etc. Isn’t there an easier way to do this?
