Adding Text After Toggle Button in Update Safe Way

My clients requested that some text be added that displays inline on the left of the toggle button that says “Select Content View:”.

I figure that it can added into the code itself, but am wondering if there’s a way to do this through functions.php so that it’ll be update safe (I’m not so good with drafting original PHP and hooky stuff, but know that it would be the ideal way to achieve it).
