Adding Numbers to catagories. | WordPress.org

I have added a template to my wordpress, but would like to know how to add the number to the catagories to show how many posts are contained within it.

http://www.rosshetherington.com the catagories are on the sidebar.

I would be most thankful to anyone who can help me with the problem.

That’s exactly what the show_count parameter of the
template tag, wp_list_categories(), is designed to do.

I have looked at these, but I am slightly confused to what area tells me how to add that catagory post number, I have tried but it doesnt work for me

So did you look at your theme’s template files? Did you find where it is currently displaying your Categories? Do you have a sidebar.php and have you looked at that?

I have looked at that, but I try and insert the relevant code and it changes the style of the numbers or it breaks the sidebar.
