Adding menus doesn't work anymore

    WP: 4.5.3 with own theme

    Suddenly when we try to add a new “custom link” to a menu, all checkboxes are unchecked and it’s not possible to save the menu. We receive the error-message that we should “enter a valid menu name”.

    Because all worked fine till yesterday, so i followed some instructions to resize the “max_input_vars” from 1000 to 5000. now i tried it also with 6000 but it isn’t working anymore.

    Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.
