Adding content from custom table to wordpress blog

    Hi All, I am fairly new to wordpress, but have some knowledge about php and mysql, i wanted to know how to read the contents of a custom table into my wordpress blog.
    for.e.g
    i have a table shop with attributes, shopid, showlocation, shownumber

    if i want to read this into my blog, so that when i submit the blog it will give me 3 additional fields for the post and then retrieve the data on screen

    please help me! also let me know if more clarification is needed
