One of the reasons I selected WP is that I can copy and paste images into my posts. It makes a huge difference as to whether or not I’ll bother with them at all. But none of my copy-pasted images show up in my media library or my front page.

I’ve just now realized, though, that I haven’t been copying and pasting the image. Even if you say “copy image” in the pop-up menu, it really just copies the god&&&&(*&()&* URL and hides that so OF COURSE they’re not showing up.

There’s just no way around this, is there. I have to save the (*&*#$ files then upload them.

(I realized all this as I was typing this, so this post went from a question to a rant. Sorry. Any suggestions to streamline the process are welcome.)

It depends on which browser you are using. You don’t specify, and there are hundreds out there.

But yes, you have to save the images and upload them to the media gallery (either ahead of time or as you are editing a post and inserting media). WordPress is content management software, not a word processor, so it can only show other people what it has in its database and uploads folders.

Anyone looking for a solution to this problem can just download the OnePress Image Elevator which exactly allows what I was looking for (the ability to copy and paste images from the clipboard, which then get added to the media library).

There may be others. This one was free (for non-premium) and the first one I found.

I hadn’t seen that plugin before. Thanks for that! Bookmarked.
