Add Functionality to edit post page

Hello,

I am new to plugin development for wordpress.

I am trying to add functionality to the edit post page after you log into wordpress. I also need to add custom content to that post so when it is published i add custom html to that post.

Is there any easy way to do this? What hooks/filters do i need to use?
