Add single post from custom post type after first post

Is it possible to add a post from a custom post type after the first or second post in a list of recent posts. It would be simliar to adding an advertisment banner but instead the user would be able to control it.

I need to have the ability to add a banner image that links to a a featured section of the site but it has to display after the first or second post of the main page. I’m not sure how to do this or even search how to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.
