I’m having trouble activating a few plugins, does anybody know why. Some of the plugins I can activate but others such as copyfeed and share-this I can’t activate (they don’t show up in the plugin section after I extract/ftp the files to my plugin folder).
Lucentminds, I’d like the know the same thing. The “5-minute” install is just how long it takes to upload the files 😉 Configuring everything can take several hours. Maybe like you I’m looking to streamline the process. I’m making progress.
Somehow WP knows which plugins are activated. I might start digging in MySQL to see where it’s “activated”. BUT, Akismet requires an activation code, which might further complicate this “auto-activation” idea.
I wonder what would happen if I copied all the MySQL table info from an existing blog, then wouldn’t all the plugins/settings be right? Or is that a bad idea?
