    Can you restrict backend access to one navigation menu (e.g. main menu) but allow access to another navigation menu (e.g. footer menu)

    Can you restrict access to certain items on the main navigation menu (e.g. restrict access to about us, contact us) but allow access to another item on the main navigation menu (e.g. allow access to the categories link so the backend user can decide what categories to display in the submenu under categories)

    Lastly, under the settings menu (manage_options) can you allow/restrict access per item (e.g. allow access to general but restrict access to writing).

    It’s not possible to achieve via changing user roles only.
    Such functionality is provided by additional modules included into Pro version.
