• Here’s a little problem I’ve recently encountered. I did a WP install for a client that wanted to run WP in a password-protected folder so that people working on a project could have a simple web-based way to post and transfer files.

Problem is, no one can upload files using the WP interface. The flash interface reports “HTTP Error” in red with every attempt & the browser interface just looks like it resets itself.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have any solutions? Is it not possible to password-protect the whole install folder? Is that the issue?

    Please help. Thanks.

I did another install in a password-protected directory on a different server managed by a different company and came away with the exact same issue.

I’m assuming that there’s just no getting WP’s upload engine to behave in a password-protected directory and start looking elsewhere for a solution unless anyone else has anything enlightening to offer.
