A Different 2.5 Text Widget Problem

I’ve read the problems that others are having with text widgets and my problem is different. Prior to upgrading to 2.5 I didn’t have any text widgets in use. I am now trying to add a text widget. I am able to add it to the sidebar but when I click on “edit” the widget disappears from the Current Widgets list and goes back to the Available Widgets list.

I have tried adding multiple text widgets (all blank since I can’t edit) and then trying to edit just one of them (based on what I read in other’s posts about text widget problems) and they all disappear from the current widgets list.

I’d really like to add a text widget but can’t because clicking on “edit” makes them go *poof*.
