The backend is a bit slower typically than the front end. How slow is it?
I would ask your hosting company that question.
Either they will fix the issue or if they don’t they know they will lose a customer.
How long is it? That’s a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. I just know that there are many times it takes a “while” (more time than is comfortable for a smooth flow to the work process.
I am wondering whether others go through this experience or not. If not, then I need to make changes.

… and I’d tell you in inches, or centimeters, or any of a number of measurements. It isn’t a philosophical question. It is measurable.
The backend is always slower in my experience. It does a lot of work on save and edit, and there is a lot of Javascript (the speed of which has more to do with your computer than the server, actually). If you are talking a couple of seconds delay (on inexpensive shared hosting) you probably don’t have a problem. If you are talking about ten seconds you probably do.
s_ha_dum,
Thanks.
From your description it does seem as though I have a problem.
The computer is pretty good — a Toshiba Qosmio with plenty of RAM, etc.
I’m not young enough to notice a few seconds, but more than 10 seconds I can notice. It looks as though I to have some discussions with my host.
