5px border around layout

Hi Everyone

I have just about got my homepage looking how I want, but I am having problems finding how to get a 5px coloured border the entire way around my layout and separating the sidebar from the main text area..
I have used the horizontal bars in the header area so the top is ok, but I cant find where the sides of the header area and main body borders should be added, also the right sidebar border in atuahualpa theme options comes up as a broken border and not solid,
so far i haven’t edited any template and am just using the theme options..
