502 Bad Gateway Error Message
-
Hiya,
Can anyone help me?
I have been working on my WordPress website for a number of months – everything was going smoothly until a couple of days ago.
I tried to update a page I had amended and was directed to a blank page with the error message:
502 Bad Gateway
The server returned an invalid or incomplete response.I also noticed that my site has been running very slowly.
I cleared my cache and started editing my site on a private browser to see if that would help and I still got the error message.
I have called up Go Daddy, where the site is hosted and they could not see any problems. I have updated all my Plugins to see if that would help. The funny thing is I have not installed any new Plugins so I am not sure what is causing the problem.
I found that this error message tended to pop up when I tried to add in Google Easy Fonts into my visual composer. I deleted Google Easy Fonts and although this made my website a lot quicker, I still had the error message pop up.
Now I not only get the error message when I want to save a page, but also when I click on anything on the left WordPress sidebar.
I am a beginner to WordPress, so I’m not sure what to do next. Any enlightenment would be amazing as Go Daddy haven’t managed to help.
Thank you

– 502 Bad Gateway is likely a server error, not a WordPress issue. Try contacting your hosting provider.
– Meanwhile, try clearing your cookies, cache. Also, try a different browser.Hi Tara,
Thanks for replying.
My hosting provider have said that it’s nothing on their end.
I have cleared my cache, tried a different browser and a private browser.
The error message remains.
Any thoughts? Thank you so much
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
